The national rugby league tournament for the under 15s were held at Hopuhopu from Sunday 23 to 26 September. Five boys from the school were selected for the Waikato team. Although this was the first time for the majority of the boys, they did well to compete against the best from around the country.

The boys chosen from the school for this team were Te Hauhunga Tumai, Pikari Te Wara, Haehae Maipi, Warren Dixon, and Te Aukaha Puke.

The results for the Waikato under 15s are as follows:



National Under 17 Tournament.

The national rugby league tournament for the under 17s were held at Hopuhopu from Sunday 30 to 3 October. Although it was a national tournament, there were also teams representing Kiwi interests based in Parramatta and Queensland, Australia.

Three boys from the school were selected for the Waikato team.The boys chosen from the school for this team were Lance Tawha,
Te Orumene Te Wara, and Herewini Rangi. The results for the Waikato under 17s are as follows:




At the end of this competition, a tournament team and a national under 17 team were selected. Congratulations to Herewini Rangi, who was selected for both teams. Herewini was also honoured for his efforts during the week, being chosen as Player of the Tournament. Nga mihi nui ki a koe.
